Summer, the harbour and an alfresco movie. Is this Sydney at its most laid-back? The OpenAir Cinema kicks off on January 11 and to celebrate, the(sydney)magazine is hosting a VIP night at the premiere of Dan In Real Life.

The first 100 people to book at this exclusive event will enjoy pre-theatre drinks (including Cape Mentelle wine and Chandon sparkling) and cocktail food (by Belinda Franks catering) on the VIP deck. And there will be special, reserved seating for the romantic comedy, which stars Little Miss Sunshine's Steve Carell and Chocolat's Juliette Binoche (left). Written by Peter Hedges (What's Eating Gilbert Grape, About A Boy), Dan In Real Life centres on a widowed advice columnist who falls in love with his brother's fiancee.

Date Sunday, January 13.

Time 7pm for drinks; 8.40pm for film.

Cost $87.70, includes ticket, cocktail food

and drinks.
